Lose Weight and Maintain Your Ideal Size
Yes, can do!
The prospect of going on a diet and having to lose weight can be a bit daunting.
Notice how I use the word CAN.
The prospect of going on a diet and having to lose weight can be fun.
Notice how I've used the word CAN again.
I've used the word CAN because both the above statements are true. Which one applies to you depends on your frame of mind and how you approach your new challenge.
Challenge
A challenge is there to be won. It's a competition or a contest against another party. In this case the other party is you. Or to be more specific - your mind.
You have to win against your mind.
Fortunately for you, that's where hypnotherapy can help. It works on your subconscious, challenging it, and helping you to change your eating habits and your approach to food and drink, so that not only do you lose weight, but once lost, that weight remains lost, as you will have educated yourself into a much better, more enjoyable, more nutritionally satisfying diet than you had before.
Fun
Winning the weight-loss challenge is fun. All it needs is the physical ability to lose those unwanted kilos, and the right mental approach to keep you on track.
Easy-peasy
We've all got the ability to physically lose weight, and it's usually very easy to drop weight quickly during the initial stages.
Steady as you go
However, what sorts the women from the girls, or the men from the boys, is the ability to stick with it once the initial thrill of getting on those scales and seeing a big weekly weight loss diminishes. Very often, the amount of weight lost per week reduces to a trickle, and on occasions possibly even goes into reverse.
That's when the correct mental approach comes into its own.
While friends and colleagues of those on a diet pay lip service to the dietee’s situation, at the same time gorging on cakes, chocolate, and so on, the dietee is the one who has to deal with the problem, alone; the problem which is in her mind, and which will start to grow until she quits the diet, going back to her old ways and regaining the lost weight (and more), until next time, when the whole jolly circus starts over. That's what happens in so many cases, but NOT to you if you train your mind using hypnotherapy to ignore all temptations and stay on course.
Is it any wonder?
Most people equate diets with small portions, constantly feeling hungry and not consuming the foods and drinks they have grown to love. No wonder they quit!
But that doesn't have to be the case. There are loads and loads of alternative foods and drinks out there which are not only healthy, but delicious and filling as well, so you never need go hungry. It's just a question of taking a little more time to be a bit more adventurous and try out new things. Once discovered, you'll have a whole new gamut of foodstuffs that you love just as much as the old ones.
But, I hear you ask, how do I decide which alternative foods and drinks are right for me?
It's up to you, but if you are not already following a prescribed diet from a doctor or nutritionist, I advise you to go and see one or other, or, ideally, both, before you start any programme of weight loss. Losing weight has to be approached correctly, so you don't make yourself ill, and those people can give you suitable advice.
If a job's worth doing
One thing for sure is that your diet will take time to achieve your goal. Anything that's worth doing always does, and anyone who says you can lose weight 'overnight' and remain slim is just not being honest.
Successful dieting involves a change of eating and drinking habits over a period of time, and a re-education of your body. It's part of your lifestyle.
Enjoy yourself
And you must never lose sight of the fact that you should eat and drink what you enjoy. No one is going to stay on a diet if they don't like their food and drink. That way lies the constant miserable feeling suffered by millions. Eating should be fun, and by paying real attention to what you eat, and making proper, informed choices, you'll bring the fun back to the table.
So, when you see your doctor and/or nutritionist, ask them for alternatives to your current favourite 'downfall' foods, and don't leave until they have answered all your questions. They'll be only too pleased to help you find alternatives you enjoy.
It's OK, honestly!
And if you should stray from your diet? No problem, just so long as you are not doing it everyday. It's OK to err occasionally, particularly during the early days when you're experiencing new flavours and textures, and getting used to the 'new' you. Follow the 80/20 rule-of-thumb. That is, stick to your diet for at least 80% of the time.
Time the great healer
It all takes time, so give it time, and that's OK because feeding yourself correctly has to be the most important thing you can do for yourself.
The benefits accrued in all aspects of your life are incalculable.
As time goes on, your new dietary regime becomes a habit, and you feel and look healthier. Because of that, you also feel happier, with bags more energy, and you find you just don’t want to eat those 'tasty little treats' any more. You discover they do nothing for you, even to the point of turning you off.
The answer to your prayers
If it all sounds too good to be true, then I can understand your scepticism, but with the aid of hypnotherapy, it can, and does, work. Yes, hypnotherapy can,
and does, work.
What about exercise?
Obviously, if you exercise, you'll burn up calories faster than if you don't, so exercise is beneficial in achieving your goal.
Depending upon your age and general physical condition, it's advisable to seek professional advice before heading off down to the gym. However, rigorous working-out is not for everybody, and not necessary, especially if you don't enjoy the grunt and grind.
Start with a brisk daily walk, and build up from there. There are a million and one ways to exercise, many of them very pleasant, and the secret is to choose exercise you like, or you'll end up quitting.
For many, the problem is one of motivation and commitment, and it is here that hypnotherapy can help. Hypnotherapy can utilise your inner resources to motivate and commit you to regular exercise, with the result that you will look and feel a whole lot better than you do now.
Coming to the party
All you need to bring to the sessions are an open mind, your weight loss goal and, if possible, the advice of a good nutritionist regarding which types of food to eat. If you don't have number three on that list, I can put you in touch with a qualified English-speaking nutritional advisor.
RSVP
So, if you'd like to give it a go, phone me on 92 52 15 036 to book your first session. Remember the first session is free, so if you do not wish to continue after that, it costs you nothing but your time.
Group sessions are also available (maximum 6 people), so bring a friend or two and you can split the cost of the session between you. For session rates, please see Appointments & Charges.
* Those who are losing weight because of a diagnosed medical condition (for example: diabetes type 2) are urged to consult their doctor before embarking on hypnotherapy or any other treatment.
